Shipping and Returns
Shipping
Everything ships from my studio in Hope, Alaska, by USPS. Because I pack every order by hand — and wrap pottery with extra care for the trip — I aim to have things on their way within 3–5 business days. If I'm in the middle of a batch or a firing, I'll let you know if it'll run a little longer. You'll get tracking as soon as it ships.
Shipping is calculated at checkout using live USPS rates for your address, so you're charged the real cost rather than a flat guess. I estimate it slightly high so I never undercharge you. I will package multiple items as efficiently as possible to keep shipping to a minimum. Once I've packed and weighed your order, I refund any meaningful overage that you had been charged. You won't pay more than it actually costs to get your order to you safely.
Coming from Alaska, transit can occasionally run a day or two past the carrier's estimate, so thank you for your patience with the distance.
Local to Hope? Choose Local Pickup at checkout and skip shipping entirely. I'll be in touch to arrange a time.
Local to Anchorage? I can also bring products to Anchorage to be picked up at The Hoarding Marmot (during business hours). Please be aware that the timing will depend on my trips to town. Why The Hoarding Marmot, you ask? I know a guy, wink.
Returns
I want you to be happy with what you receive, and I also run this as one person making everything by hand, so here's how I handle returns, plainly.
If your order arrives damaged, or something isn't right (wrong item, my mistake), email me within a week of delivery with a photo and I'll make it right; either a refund or a replacement, whichever you'd prefer. Breakage in transit is rare because I pack carefully, but it happens, and it's mine to sort out.
Skincare can't be returned once it's shipped, for safety and hygiene reasons, but the above still applies if it arrives damaged or the order is incorrect.
Pottery pieces are one of a kind and made by hand, so each has small variations in glaze, shape, and finish. That's part of what makes a piece yours, not a flaw - so a piece may have slight variations that can’t be appreciated in the photo. If something isn't what you hoped for, reach out and we'll figure it out; just know that because each piece is unique, I can't always offer a straightforward exchange.
When in doubt, just email me. I'd rather hear from you and make it right than have you quietly disappointed.
